In the Indian city of Udaipur in distant Rajasthan, which is known as the Venice of India because of its fabulous temples and palaces, we came upon a small group of local craftsmen who still have unique skills which have been almost completely forgotten elsewhere. The craftsmanship involved in the creation of splendid silver furniture for the residences and palaces of royal families, a skill which was acquired and refined over generations, is reflected in this unique, highly unusual piece of furniture. Each element is created with loving craftsmanship. The frame is covered with beaten metal. A rare and remarkable masterpiece, which will give you joy for many years to come. For all ‘lords and ladies of the manor’ who are unable or unwilling to do without a glamorous ambience. - For this masterwork cabinetmakers first create the body out of mango wood. It is then carefully sanded by hand until no unevenness can either be seen or felt. The craftsman then applies a rubber-based adhesive coating.
